Course Information

The Award definition -  Holders of this award are qualified to guide Grade 2 whitewater trips. 

The course will take place from 9:00am on Friday 26th October on the Mitta River.

Meet at 9am at Joker Flat camp ground.

Day 1 : Afternoon : Middle creek to Bundarra river area
Day 1 : Evening Session
         Knots and ropes  /       Z drags/ 3:1 / basic mechanical systems

Day 2 – Paddling Day – most likely Joker Flat to Hinnomunjie Bridge 

Day 2 Evening Session

·        rnNavigation

·        rnBasic weather interpretation

Day 3 Assessment focus - Any remaining topics and exam

Please note that assessment is subject to paddling ability.

There is free camping at Jokers Flat and you will need to provide all your own food, camping and paddling equipment.

We will need a copy of your logbook to determine your paddling experience.

Please ensure you have been in contact with Paddle Victoria prior to registering for this course to ensure you have the appropriate skills and information to take part.
There will also be a $170.00 fee to register your qualification with Paddle Australia for 3 years. You will only be invoiced for your PA registration at the successful completion of your assessment.
