·AusrnCanoe (AC) Structure, Award Scheme and relevant guidelines
·Embarking and disembarking
·Hydrological features in Grade 2 water
·Negotiating Grade 2 rapids
·Packing for an overnight trip
Price is $295 per person and includes $20 skills award registration with Australian Canoeing and camping accommodation at the Steps. Random Adventure Gear will give participants the opportunity to purchase gear at a discounted rate or alternatively you can hire gear.
Participants are to also bring their own camping gear and all food for the duration of the course.
Log books are required to be completed prior to the course in order to gain the Aus Canoe Skills Award. If you haven’t completed the log book you will still bernawarded with the BOAC Certificate which you can use to register with Aus Canoernat a later date when your log book is sufficient. Australian Canoeing training course for teaching skills and leading trips on moving water up to, and including, Grade 2 for experienced paddlers. This training course is a strongly recommended pre-requisite for anyone wanting to go for the Australian Canoeing Whitewater Instructor Assessment at a future date (1.5 days assessment, separate). This is not an introduction to Whitewater Skills course but for experienced paddlers looking at demonstrating correct stroke technique in an instructing situation on moving water, breaking down and teaching stroke technique, whitewater rescue techniques and the requirements for Whitewater Guide/Instructor Assessment.
